Custom Soap Packaging Boxes for Handmade, Natural & Luxury Soap Brands — From 100 Units
Pro Custom Packaging produces custom soap boxes for UK soap makers, independent beauty brands, Etsy sellers, and cosmetic manufacturers. Our soap packaging boxes cover every soap format — bar soap boxes, soap sleeve packaging, soap gift sets, and luxury soap presentation boxes — printed in kraft, SBS Cardboard, or rigid harboard with CLP and CPSR-compliant label space built into every dieline as standard.
We supply from a minimum order of 100 boxes with free artwork and dieline preparation on every order. Standard production is 15–20 working days from approved artwork.
The most common soap box format in the UK indie and artisan market. A straight tuck-end or reverse tuck-end carton in kraft or SBS cardboard at 250–350 GSM, produced to the exact dimensions of your soap bar with a 2–3mm clearance on each face. The tuck-end carton is cost-effective per unit, flat-packed for efficient storage, and delivers a clean print surface on both kraft and white SBS Cardboard. Straight tuck-end is standard for most bar soap formats. Reverse tuck-end suits soap bars with a tendency to push the base open — common in wider, flatter soap formats. We produce to your soap’s exact dimensions — not to a standard size range.
A printed card sleeve that wraps around the soap bar with the ends of the bar exposed — the most widely used format in the UK handmade soap market. Lighter and more cost-effective per unit than a full enclosure box. The open ends allow the customer to see and smell the soap before purchase — a significant in-store and market stall advantage. Available in kraft or SBS Cardboard at 250–350 GSM. Sleeve width is sized to the exact girth of your soap bar. Suitable for bar soaps with decorative surfaces, embedded botanicals, or swirled designs that benefit from being partially visible at the point of sale. Foil on kraft or spot UV on SBS Cardboard are the two most popular finish combinations for soap sleeves in the UK market.
A full-enclosure tuck-end or auto-lock base carton with a clear window die-cut into one or more faces. The window allows product visibility before purchase — particularly effective for soaps with decorative tops, layered colours, or embedded flowers, herbs, and botanicals. Window shape options include full-front rectangular, oval, circular, and bespoke custom die-cut shapes. PET film as standard; cellulose bio-film for FSC and eco-certified briefs. The window panel must be accounted for in the dieline design to ensure CLP and CPSR mandatory label information appears on the remaining solid panels.
Rigid fardboard or SBS cardboard folding carton gift boxes for soap collections, seasonal gift sets, and luxury soap gifting. Two-piece rigid boxes at 1000–1600 GSM with tissue paper, ribbon pull, and foam or card insert to hold individual soaps in position. Available from 100 units with the same finish options (soft-touch, foil, emboss) as single-bar soap packaging. Common for Christmas soap gift sets, wedding favours, corporate gifting, and spa and hotel amenity collections.
Small-format custom soap boxes for wedding favours, event gifts, and promotional giveaways. Pillow boxes, small tuck-end cartons, and gable boxes in SBS cardboard or kraft at 300 GSM. Personalised with guest names, event date, or occasion branding. Minimum 100 units — practical for event runs of 100–500 favours without large excess stock.
Kraft board (250–400 GSM): The dominant material choice in the UK independent soap market. The natural, unbleached surface communicates handmade, organic, and sustainable positioning — which is how the majority of UK indie soap brands position themselves, and what their buyers are specifically seeking. FSC-certified kraft available. Prints cleanly in one or two colours, foil on kraft, or full-colour digital print on a kraft surface. The natural brown surface limits photographic-quality print reproduction compared to white SBS cardboard, but delivers a tactile, distinctive aesthetic that resonates strongly with the UK artisan soap buyer and stands out on market stalls, independent boutiques, and natural beauty retail shelves.
White-top kraft: Kraft board with a white clay-coated face on one side. Delivers improved full-colour print fidelity on the outer surface while retaining the natural brown kraft appearance on the inside and edges. Used by soap brands who want the kraft aesthetic but require more vibrant full-colour print than unbleached kraft allows. Bridges the gap between natural kraft and white SBS without abandoning the eco material signal.
SBS cardboard Box (300–400 GSM): Solid Bleached Sulphate — the benchmark for retail-standard soap cartons. Smooth white face delivers the cleanest CMYK and Pantone print. Used by soap brands positioned above the artisan tier — luxury bath brands, spa collections, department store-positioned soap lines, and brands supplying major UK retailers. At 350 GSM, SBS cardboard boxes deliver a premium feel on a folding carton that communicates quality at retail packaging boxes.
Rigid Harboard (1,200–1,500 GSM): For luxury soap gift box sets, hotel amenity collections, and premium spa brands. Two-piece or magnetic closure construction with soft-touch wrap. The construction of choice for soap brands positioned at the luxury gifting tier — where the packaging is part of the product value, not just a container.
Soap sold in the UK is subject to two separate regulatory frameworks depending on its classification, and both affect what must appear on the soap box. This is the most frequently misunderstood compliance area for UK soap makers — and non-compliant labelling is one of the most common reasons Trading Standards action is taken against small cosmetic and soap businesses.
If your soap is classified as a cosmetic product (which includes most handmade bar soaps, liquid soaps, and bath products sold to consumers), it must comply with the Cosmetic Products Enforcement Regulations 2013 under UK law. This means the soap box must carry:
If your soap contains fragrance, any fragrance allergen listed in the UK Cosmetics Regulation at or above threshold concentration must be declared by INCI name on the label. For rinse-off products (soaps are classified as rinse-off for this purpose), the threshold is 0.01% concentration. For leave-on products, the threshold is 0.001%. Your fragrance supplier’s Safety Data Sheet will confirm which allergens are present and at what concentrations. These declarations must appear on the soap box as part of the ingredients or allergen panel.
Foil on kraft: The most popular finish in the UK indie soap market. Hot foil stamping in gold, rose gold, silver, or copper is applied to the brand name, logo, or botanical illustration on a natural kraft background. Communicates artisan quality and luxury simultaneously. Available from 100 units.
Soft-touch lamination on SBS Cardboard Box: Velvet matte surface for soap brands positioned above the artisan tier — spa brands, luxury bath collections, and retail-positioned natural beauty lines. Tactile, fingerprint-resistant, and recyclable. Pairs well with a debossed brand name or spot UV logo element.
Spot UV over matt or soft-touch: Gloss varnish applied to the logo or brand element over a matt laminated background. Creates a visual and tactile contrast that communicates premium without full foil cost. Common for UK mid-market soap brands.
Embossing & debossing: Brand name or logo pressed, raised, or recessed into the board surface. Particularly effective on kraft board — the natural surface takes a clean impression, and the tactile result is distinctive on a market stall or retail shelf. Debossed brand name with foil fill is a common combination for premium soap packaging in the UK market.
Aqueous coating (eco finish): Water-based coating applied in-line during printing. Light gloss or satin finish without plastic lamination. Fully recyclable and compatible with FSC certification claims. For soap brands making recyclable or plastic-free packaging claims, aqueous coating is the correct alternative to lamination.
Cellulose window patches: Bio-film window inserts derived from cellulose rather than PET plastic. Compostable and compatible with FSC-certified packaging claims. Available as a direct substitute for PET windows on kraft or SBS window soap boxes for eco-certified briefs.
Our minimum order is 100 boxes across all soap box formats. No die or plate charges apply to any order quantity.
A soap box is a full enclosure — all six faces of the soap are covered by the box. A soap sleeve is an open-ended wrap that covers the middle band of the soap bar, leaving both ends of the soap exposed. Soap sleeves are lighter, less expensive per unit, and allow the customer to see and smell the soap before purchase — which is a sales advantage in market stalls, independent retail, and natural beauty boutiques. Soap boxes provide full surface protection and more label space, making them better suited for postal sale, retail shelf display, and soaps where the end-grain appearance is not a purchase driver.
Kraft board at 250–350 GSM is the dominant choice for UK indie and handmade soap brands — its natural surface communicates artisan and sustainable positioning. SBS cardboard at 240–400 GSM suits luxury bath brands and spa collections where full-colour print fidelity and a clean white surface are priorities. White-top kraft bridges both — kraft aesthetic with improved print quality. If you are unsure, advise us of your soap format, weight, and brand positioning when requesting a quote.
Soap sold in the UK as a cosmetic product must comply with The Cosmetic Products Enforcement Regulations 2013 — requiring INCI ingredients list, UK Responsible Person details, batch code, net weight, and fragrance allergen declarations. If your soap formulation or any component is classified as a hazardous mixture under UK CLP Regulation, the soap box must additionally carry GHS hazard pictograms, signal words, and H-statements. We build all mandatory label panel space into every soap box dieline. If you are unsure of your labelling requirements, your CPSR assessor can confirm before artwork is prepared.
Yes. Window soap boxes are available with full-front, oval, circular, and custom die-cut window shapes in PET film or cellulose bio-film. The window placement is confirmed in the dieline before artwork to ensure mandatory CLP and CPSR label information sits on solid panels with sufficient space.
Yes. All our cardboard soap boxes — kraft, SBS, and CCNB — are recyclable through standard UK kerbside collections. For soap brands making recyclable packaging claims, we specify aqueous coating instead of plastic lamination and cellulose bio-film instead of PET windows. FSC-certified board is available for brands requiring FSC chain-of-custody documentation. All material and finish specifications can be confirmed before production to support your packaging sustainability claims.
